Human sixpack Chris Hemsworth is the gift that keeps on giving. Last month he made Centr – his fitness and wellbeing app – free for the first six weeks (the free trial period usually lasts just seven days). Now, not simply content making sure adults stay fit and sane in the autumn of Covid-19, he’s released a series of meditations and sleep visualisations for kids. And to sweeten the deal, he’s enlisted Jojo Rabbit director and overall excellent person Taika Waititi to narrate them with him.

“If you find yourself in a situation like myself – like a lot of people – where you have to homeschool your kids and you’re failing miserably, a friend of mine suggested doing these guided meditations,” said Hemsworth in an announcement on Instagram.

“And I thought, ‘That’s not going to work, they’re allergic to sitting still.’ But to my surprise it actually did and it calmed them down.”

So he’s created a series of kid-focused meditations and sleep visualisations designed to create a sense of calm in what can only be described as a very confusing time. And his friend Waititi (who directed him in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok) is on board to narrate a few of them (Hemsworth will be handling the rest).

If you already have a subscription to Centr, the new content for kids will be up on the site and the app shortly. If you’re not a subscriber, you have up until 6pm today to sign up for a free six-week trial (after 6pm it’ll revert to the regular free seven-day trial period).
