At the Prancing Pony brewshed you can enjoy a pint of world-class beer and the delightful scent of the brewing process itself. There are no dividing windows or walls here – it’s an open space centered around beer and the community that it fosters.

Owners Frank Samson and Corinna Steeb are scientists, avid travellers and brewing aficionados. But it’s their imaginative approach that’s the key to their success. Together, they imagine flavours and develop personas for their beers.

For example, the India Red Ale (awarded the Supreme Champion prize at the 2016 International Beer Challenge in London) is a burlesque dancer: complex, elegant and a bit feisty. It’s one of five core ales, including an amber, black, summer and American-style pale. Other seasonals and one-offs are also available.

The beers are also used in the kitchen, to marinade and batter dishes such as wings and burgers. Other choices include charcuterie boards, desserts and soft pretzels from Bretzel Bakehouse in Mount Barker.
