SAD Cafe pioneered the cafe culture in tiny paved backstreet, Ebenezer Place. It draws inspiration from Australian culture, sourcing all its produce locally.

The space is filled with mismatched furniture and boasts an eclectic feel. Although the menu is small, there’s no doubt each element has been carefully considered in creating the all-day breakfast and lunch options. Depending on the season, you’ll find your favourite choice is always changing. The menu consists of simple dishes, featuring salads, burgers and traditional Aussie pancakes.

When the team at DAS first established the boutique hairdresser next door, they’d always wanted to open a cafe, but only if the shop next door became available. Soon enough the building was empty and their idea had become a reality. With generous portion sizes and coffee roasted in-house (as Dawn Patrol), its continued growth and popularity comes as no surprise.
