St Louis House of Fine Icecream and Dessert
Features
In the middle of the Seine, the river that runs through Paris, there’s an island called Saint Louis. It’s this romantic location that inspired Saint Louis House of Fine Ice Cream & Dessert.
The feel of Paris is captured by way of chaise-lounge booths and white subway tiles, as well as the little jars of Bonne Maman jam, bottles of Möet and delicately stacked teacups lining the ornamental bookshelves.
Ice-cream is the specialty, along with a range of low-fat frozen yoghurts and dairy-free sorbets. Among the classics, there are a handful of signature flavour combinations, such as the Saint Louis – a mix of caramel and honeycomb swirled through a white chocolate base. Ice cream is included in many of the dessert options, or you can simply choose a scoop or two in a hand-made, chocolate-dipped waffle cone.
Speaking of chocolate, it’s everywhere. There’s chocolate fondue, chocolate-drizzled waffles, Nutella crêpes and oozing chocolate fondant on the menu. But there’s more to choose from besides the rich favourite, including blueberry and lemon crepes or a peanut butter banana cream pie that’s served in a jar and topped with buttery shortbread crumble.
If you just can’t wait until dessert, Saint Louis opens for breakfast every day, serving French toast, ham and cheese croissants and an assortment of pastries to enjoy alongside your coffee.
