Ring in the end of vintage with the state’s top wine producers.

East End Wine Down returns to Vardon Avenue on Saturday April 1, bringing together big gun South Australian producers and their small-batch counterparts.

Forty-two wineries will pour more than 160 wines throughout the day. New additions this year include Brash Higgins, Jericho Wines and Switch Wines. “We’re market leaders in the global wine scene,” says event director and East End Cellars owner Michael Andrewartha. “It’s a real snapshot of what our state’s doing.”

The annual street party also includes beer, cider, and now, gin. Mismatch Brewing Co. and Coopers will provide the brews, alongside some of the Adelaide Hills’ best cider producers: Sidewood, Hills Cider Co. and LOBO Cider. A dedicated “Gin on the Green” area will host locally distilled Ounce Gin and Willabrand Fresh Figs, who will be mixing fig gin “Figrioskas”.

“We want to support our [East End] community,” says Andrewartha. “So we’ve invited our neighbours to cook.” NOLA, Mother Vine, Sukhumvit Soi 38 and the newly opened Iberia are all on board. There will also be a DJ set from Skin Contact.

East End Wine Down is on Saturday April 1 from 12pm to 5pm on Vardon Avenue. Tickets are $35 and available online or at the door. This includes entry and a plastic glass for tasting.
