To celebrate launching a menu that’s virtually doubled in size.

It’s been eight months since Poké Me opened in Adelaide, putting a Japanese spin on the Hawaiian dish. People were quick to jump on the healthy fast-food bandwagon.

Now the team is taking it to the next level with a more “wholesome” approach that builds on – and offers an alternative to – its mostly Asian flavours. National marketing manager Alex Kleut is calling it a “health-bowl bar”.

Poke isn’t going anywhere: “Nothing we have already will be taken off the menu,” Kleut says (apart from a few sauces and seasonings). But your choice of ingredients has jumped from 18 to 30-something.

Build a bowl with “heartier” proteins such as pulled pork or beef, shiitake mushrooms, and falafel; or toppings such as hummus, chickpeas, pineapple and radish. There are also a heap of fresh herbs and spices new to the menu.

“Not everyone wants to eat sashimi-grade salmon or tuna,” says Kleut. Those that do can count on sustainably caught fresh (and smoked) salmon from Tasmanian farm Tassal and tuna sourced in northern Australia by Coral Sea Fishing.

Poké Me’s new menu launches today with $10 bowls.
