• A lofty new restaurant and bar by the Gondola Gondola crew has openened in Henley Beach – with a cuisine-crossing menu featuring Vietnamese beef tartare, a pho pot pie and a Sichuan-Cajun seafood boil, backed by tropical cocktails.

• Find truffle ramen and cheeseburger curry at Rundle Street's new noodle bar. Plus, a tight edit of sides including crisp gyoza and plump fried tofu.

• Coming soon: a trio of chefs are opening a cosy new restaurant and natural wine bar in Willunga.

• The eastern suburbs have welcomed a bunch of exciting new openings, including a café-bakery supplied by the owners’ own farm; a sleek neighbourhood wine bar; a Spanish-inspired eatery with a sunny courtyard; and a cafe breathing new life into a 19th-century corner store. Add them to your list this month.

• Fishbank has introduced a caviar cart to deliver diners a “bump” of the briny stuff – to be consumed off the back of your hand with a nip of vodka. It might sound gimmicky, but placing the eggs on your hand raises the caviar to the ideal eating temperature. • Anchovy Bandit has launched a new takeover series with visiting chefs joining Shane Wilson in the kitchen for one night only. Each guest will take the reins to create their own twists on Italian classics. First up? Gather at Coriole's Tom Tilbury on Sunday October 31
