In the words of designer James Schueler, Stirling’s Patch Kitchen & Garden is “like your grandpa’s garden shed, done schmick”. Set in what was once the suburb’s post office and general store in the 1880s, the venue's interiors blend the warmth of a country home with the elegance of European design.

Since chef-owner Andrew Davies (Osteria Oggi, ex-Press Food & Wine) took over in 2023, Stirling locals have been waddling home happy and well-fed. As ever, Patch is a place that meets you where you’re at. If you’re after snacks and a glass of wine, the sunny courtyard is primed for that. But if you’re settling in for a long lunch or dinner, a casual yet refined menu is at your disposal.

Dishes change frequently to showcase seasonal ingredients and produce from local suppliers. And while the offering changes sometimes weekly, freshly made pasta is a staple. We also love the desserts – past highlights include one cheekily referred to as the Monte di Testicolo, a 1930s tulip glass filled with perfect spheres of vibrantly coloured gelato, all made in-house.
