If you’re craving the calm that only a weekend in the mountains can bring, this secluded retreat, just over two hours’ drive from Sydney’s CBD, might be exactly what you’re looking for. Bathe under the stars, sample wine from a local vineyard or set off on a mildly challenging hike – but whatever you do, be sure to stop and smell the eucalyptus.

There are four accommodation options to choose from: The Machinery Shed, Hilltop Cabin and Woodland Cabin each sleep two, while The Lodge can accommodate up to eight guests. Each dwelling has its own character, but a sense of serenity is common to all. Bathtubs (both indoor and out), fireplaces and king-sized beds bring the luxury, while full kitchens ensure you’ll be set for a self-contained stay. Plus, there are views for days from the spacious wooden decks.

Enjoy your morning coffee to the tune of local birdlife or laze on sundowners surrounded by wallabies. Pack your bug spray and a good book (there are TVs in the accommodation but no wi-fi) and enjoy the seclusion.
