Priorities
Set within a charming milk-white weatherboard shack on Samford Road in Alderley, Priorities serves exactly what the name suggests. During the week, it’s all about coffee, pastries, and baguettes, plus wine if you want it. And on Friday nights, the venue transforms into a fully fledged wine bar serving cheese and charcuterie.
From its coffee bar, Priorities runs Industry Beans’ Newstead blend through a customised Sanremo Cafe Racer espresso machine, with guest roasters featured on batch brew and filter. There’s also a short selection of cold drinks such as cold brew, juices, kombucha and cascara.
For food, Cordelia Sourdough Bakehouse supplies pastries such as croissants and doughnuts; takeaway loaves of sourdough; and ham and salad, and chicken and salad baguette sandwiches.
Owner Luke Reimers approaches the wine list just as he would at his Fortitude Valley wine bar Mr Chester, with a constantly rotating selection of small-producer wines – you might pick up a Unico Zelo Terra Cotta greco, or a La Violetta Chagrin chardonnay.
