Before 2008, accommodation in Brisbane was mostly limited to large conglomerate chains or dodgy backpackers. That all changed when serial restaurateur Damien Griffiths opened the doors of Limes Hotel.

In many respects it put Brisbane on the hotel industry map and has since become a member of the world-renowned Design Hotel Group. One of its main claims to fame is its bar – this isn’t your standard, stiff and lifeless lobby bar; it’s a rooftop oasis fit with plunge pools and 360-degree views over the city.

Limes isn’t just a place for guests and out-of-towners to enjoy. It’s a favourite among Brisbane’s partygoers on weekends, thanks to the cocktail selection and resident DJ.

The bar’s signature drink, a Pimms jug made with mint and fresh fruit, is the ideal refreshment for a sunny rooftop session while enjoying the breeze.
