One Drop Specialty Coffee
Features
An office block lobby might not be the first place you’d think to find a coffee-first cafe for locals. But One Drop Specialty Coffee defies expectations.
One Drop opened in 2009, making it one of the first dedicated specialty coffee spots in Brisbane. It’s gone through a few owners since then. Since 2015 it’s been run by four bean enthusiasts who are behind Coffee Anthology, Coffee Iconic and The Spot Specialty Coffee. They’re on a mission to restore One Drop to its former glory.
To this end the cafe doesn’t just rely on one supplier. Instead the baristas work together to choose the best blends they can find. At any one time you might find coffee from Small Batch Roasting Co. and Seven Seeds in Melbourne; Reuben Hills and Sample Coffee Rosters in Sydney; and plenty more on the ever-rotating list.
One Drop’s new owners also overhauled the food. Crust & Co supplies the bread and pastries. The rest of the cakes, seasonal salads, granolas, pickles and jams are made in-house. The main clientele may be crowds of office workers, but here quality and quantity aren’t mutually exclusive.
