Feeling lucky? You will be after a trip to Lucky Duck Cafe Bar, a home-away-from-home that caters to every appetite: enjoy al-fresco brunch, afternoon beers on the back deck or classy evening cocktails in cosy timber surrounds.

Co-owners James Davidson and Justine Sinclair (owner of nearby Posto) transformed Lucky Duck from daytime coffee spot to chilled cafe and bar in 2013. Davidson’s design skills – he’s also an architect – are also responsible for the bar and back deck, which give the space a timeless and warm community feel.

West End hipsters share tables with young families; office workers unwind over beers beside local tradies.

All-day breakfast options suit most tastes and budgets, and include the Duck BATE (bacon, avocado, tomato and egg on sourdough), Canadian Waffles (with ice cream and maple syrup) and the Breakfast Puck (a bacon and egg muffin).

Depending on your mood, there’s a choice between Espresso di Manfredi coffee and draught and bottled beers (including Hassel Hop, Duke and Feral Hop Hog) and Hills Cider. A modest but diverse wine list represents Australia, New Zealand and Europe.

If you’re feeling fancy, choose a classic cocktail, or ask the bar staff for a surprise creation.
