Little Loco
For pro soccer player Dan Bowles, eating healthy has always been part of the job. But to him that’s never been a bad thing. Little Loco is his and partner Hannah Bowles’ first foray into the hospitality scene.
Taking their knowledge of health-food concept cafes in Sydney and Melbourne as well as that gained during Bowles’ time as an elite sportsman, Little Loco treats food intolerances and dietary preferences as an opportunity, rather than an impediment. Vegetarians and whole foods eaters are particularly well-catered for here, though vegan options are scarce.
The all-day menu goes gangbusters on weekends (tip: arrive early). Dishes include espresso panna cotta, and a nutrient-packed green bowl filled with the usual suspects (kale, broccoli, and spinach) but accompanied by asparagus, avo, feta and eggs.
There’s also eggs and waffle Benedict, or a chorizo and cauliflower hash. Our pick? The salted caramel waffles with blueberry, vanilla mascarpone and honeycomb, matched with a cup of Single O espresso.
