If you think you’re in the wrong place when you get to Crust and Co, you’re probably in the right place. The backstreets of Wilston might be sleepy, but there will most likely be a line out the door of the red brick building.

French-Italian baker Sebastien Pisasale and French-Australian Lara Keating co-own the busy bakery, which supplies some of the swankiest venues in Brisbane, The Stamford Plaza and Tattersalls among them. Luckily, you don’t need to shell out any expensive membership fees to access these goods.

The pistachio and chocolate croissant is not to be missed, laden as it is with dark chocolate and chunks of bright green pistachio. But the bestsellers are always just the plain croissant, and sourdough loaf. When they’re this good, why bother getting fancy?
