South City Wine Bar

South City Wine is a romantic wine bar featuring a 200-strong list of wine bottles, signature French-style cocktails and European-leaning eats.

Modelled after a classic European wine bar, the cosy 60-seat space is decked out with handsome tiled floors, plenty of timber panelling and cabinetry, and ornate tables and chairs. The counters are low-set and the staff slice charcuterie to order in the front window, which sits below a dapper green awning.

Naturally, wine is the star here. The extensive list features 25 by the glass and three rotating Coravin drops, drawn from natural-leaning producers in Australia, France, Italy, Spain, the USA and New Zealand. Every price point is covered, from a humble chardonnay to vintage Dom Perignon. The wine is backed by a French-inspired cocktail list and European eats that might include escargot, chicken liver parfait, sirloin with salt-and-vinegar frites, charcuterie, and tins of fancy sardines and anchovies.

This Euro-style wine bar comes from American business partners Vincent Lombino and Jared Thibault, who are also behind Sydney's Gowings Bar & Grill, and the Gold Coast's Stingray Lounge and Yamagen.
