28 Degrees is an adults-only, boutique guest house in the heart of Byron Bay that’s all about embracing the slow life. This quintessential Byron retreat boasts 12 beautiful rooms, each filled with Italian linen by Hale Mercantile, comfy couches by Maker & Sons, and complimentary mini-bars that are restocked daily.
To encourage guests to digitally detox, 28 Degrees is proudly television-free. Go for a dip in the heated plunge pool; bathe on your balcony with views of the lighthouse and surrounding tropical gardens; or relax with an in-room massage. There’s a curation of books to flick through, either by the pool or the beach nearby.
Guests are also sorted for breakfast, with a menu of healthy options including cold-pressed juices, homemade granola and yoghurt with fresh blueberries from the local farmers market.
If you manage to tear yourself away from your luxurious digs, the best bits of Byron are right on your doorstep. Must-see sights include Cape Byron, Arakwal National Park and Stone & Wood Brewery. All are within 20 minutes of the retreat, and you can peddle between them on one of the complimentary bicycles.
