In the Gold Coast Hinterland, not far from Springbrook National Park, is this tiny home with a corrugated roof, a claw-foot bath and a woodfired hot tub by a freshwater creek.

It’s called Wee Tiny, designed and built by couple Fiona Gunn and Clancy Palmer, who’ve brought together things they love – antique furniture, French linen sheets, limited phone reception – and turned it into a home on wheels at their farm property.

They’ve used reclaimed materials, vintage fittings and windows to create a romantic cabin hideaway that’s available to hire for a minimum two-night stay.

Inside there’s a queen-size bed, shower (above the bath) and eco toilet. Outdoors, you’ll find a kitchen with an oven, stove-top kettle and an esky. Plus, it has a veranda (and a wood burner) where you can play board games and sip wine until the sun goes down.

It’s based in Austinville Valley on a farm with cows and bees, plus other wildlife from red-necked wallabies to kingfishers. There’s a private swimming hole at Mudgeeraba Creek, which the cabin overlooks, and there are bushwalks, waterfalls and towering trees in Springbrook National Park, around 30 minutes’ drive away.

To help make your stay a little more luxe, the owners have included eco-friendly bath products, organic teas and a bluetooth speaker (though remember to download all your podcasts and tunes before you arrive).
