The view is the first thing guests notice at Wills Domain. The winery sits on 60 hectares and offers postcard vistas of undulating vine-covered hills across the Gunyulgup Valley, to an impressive homestead, with glimpses of the Indian Ocean. It’s an easy place to settle into and while away an afternoon.

Sit down to lunch from ex-Cutler & Co (Melbourne) chef Seth James, and his food will be the second thing to captivate you. Using local and indigenous ingredients, the flavour combinations are often unusual but always wonderful. The artistry on the plate is nothing short of first class. In addition to a la carte ordering, tasting menus are served in the private dining area (bookings are essential).

For a casual option, graze on a cheese platter or charcuterie board with a glass of your favourite Wills Domain wine at the cellar door. Across three categories – Estate, Single Vineyard and Cuvee – varietals include shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, chardonnay, semillion and the lesser-known German white grape, scheurebe.

The restaurant is open from 12pm to 3pm (last orders at 3pm).
