A new nine-storey-high, 250-metre-long waterslide experience has landed at Funfields, the 15.7-hectare theme park in Whittlesea, about an hour from Melbourne’s CBD.
Called Supanova, it cost $8 million and has been 18 months in the making. And it’s not your average waterslide.
The experience includes an 18-metre funnel, a flying saucer that will spin you right round, and translucent rings that make you feel like you’re travelling super fast.

SIGN UP“We wanted to give our guests the most exhilarating waterpark experience in the world,” Funfields operations manager Stephen Philp said in a statement.
“And what we received back doesn’t disappoint. Supanova … gives the feeling of actual weightlessness with zero g-force, which generates some serious fun for between two and four guests at a time.
“The actual speed at which you travel depends on the total weight of the participants, but I can guarantee that it’s fast.”
Funfields tickets are free for kids under 100 centimetres, $42 for seniors, $52 for people between 100 and 130 centimetres, and $62 for people over 130 centimetres. Book online.
