Little Rogue
Located on Drewery Lane, a few steps away from Baroq House, Little Rogue is its sole laneway cafe – you’ll spot it by its bright blue door. Inside, it’s white walls, birch floors and there’s just enough exposed brick that it doesn’t feel like its self-consciously “performing” Melbourne. One of its crowning features is a lightwell flanking the coffee machine, a rarity for a building this deep into the CBD.
It’s a first venture for ex-Plantation baristas Leo Lee and Calvin Ko, serving Small Batch’s Candyman beans as the house blend. For the moment, the cafe is playing the menu by ear, but you’ve got a selection of sweets to choose from, inclusive of financiers and crepe cakes by Mille and B’s and Butterbing’s cookies.
The duo’s open to hosting your artwork, too. If you email them with a pitch, they’re more than happy to sell works by creatives who don’t have a space of their own.
