Features

Clay Health & Organics was originally known as Clay Fine Foods. After several months of renovations, it re-branded in 2016, with twice as many products in store. The shop is located in two Victorian-era homes, divided into four rooms with natural timber shelving throughout.

You’ll find certified organic and biodynamic fruit and vegetables; pantry staples; vitamins and supplements; and beer and wine alongside environmentally friendly and chemical-free household items and pet products. All the fruits and vegetables are hand-picked by a fifth-generation farmer. Each morning, breads are delivered from Loafer and Baker D. Chirico. Cold-pressed juices are made on-site.

Customers are treated as friends, not consumers. It’s not uncommon for the owners to place special-request orders for shoppers seeking specific products. When there’s time, they’ll even carry groceries to cars or nearby homes. Their team of employees has backgrounds in organics, naturopathy, nutrition and environmental science.

The Rathdowne Village location means there’s always ample parking. And for those who can’t make it, a home-delivery service is available.
