Set in a sun-drenched corner shop, Sunhands combines a cafe, wine shop, deli and general store. Stop by and enjoy all-day dishes, which might be the morning plate with a soft boiled egg, a slice of Akimbosourdough, a cheese, a protein and a daily selection of vegetables and ferments. Or settle in for the inner-child-nourishing dippy eggs, elegantly throned in a chic egg cup.

There are eight tables along the Drummond Street footpath where patrons can sit and discover a local drop. A range of Victorian wines – including co-founder Nathen Doyle’s own Upside Wine – are on pour and available for purchase, alongside other small-scale interstate drops and loose-bunch flowers.

Previously housing cult-favourite Ima Project Corner, Heartattack and Vine duo Matt Roberts and Doyle, and first-time owner Ishella Butler, transformed the corner shop’s space. The walls are decidedly bare, to showcase custom works by independent makers and producers. The white walls are balanced by an earthy fit-out, with stained timber and sand-toned tiles reflecting the team’s from-the-soil ethos in its menu and wares.
