In the last 24 hours, Victoria has recorded no new coronavirus cases or deaths, making it the first official day of zero since early June.

That brings metropolitan Melbourne’s rolling average to 3.6 and regional Victoria’s to 0.2.

And it comes just a day after Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews announced he would not be bringing forward the easing of restrictions planned for November 1.

“We are not in a position to do that today because we have at least 1000 test results from that northern metropolitan outbreak that are in the lab,” he said yesterday. “This is not anything other than a cautious pause.”
