From 11.59pm on Sunday November 22, Melbourne’s coronavirus restrictions are easing again.
Premier Daniel Andrews announced the news in a press conference on Sunday, after Victoria recorded its 23rd day without any new coronavirus cases or deaths.
Face masks will no longer be mandatory outside in situations where social distancing is possible. But Melburnians will still be required to wear a mask in all indoor settings.

SIGN UPAs far as home gatherings go, the limit will increase to 15 indoors. According to the premier's statement: "The number of visitors to your home will increase from two to 15 per day. That can be split across different times – 10 for lunch, and five for dinner – as long as people are sticking to a total of 15." And that is to increase to 30 – also across the course of the day – from December 13, in time for Christmas).
Fifty people from any number of households will be able to gather in public outdoor spaces.
Hospitality venues – including restaurants, bars, pubs and cafes – will be able to have 100 people indoors and 200 people outdoors, as long as the density requirements are adhered to. In smaller venues, one person per two square metres will be allowed, but capacity will be capped at a maximum of 50.
The limits for weddings and funerals will also increase, to 150 people. And 150 will be allowed at gyms and religious ceremonies.
Cinemas, galleries and museums will also be able to host up to 150 people indoors.
From November 30, a slow and safe return to work will begin. Twenty-five per cent of staff will be able to work in the office, with 75 per cent needing to remain at home.
