In a press conference on Saturday morning, Premier Daniel Andrews announced regional Victoria is going back into lockdown, in an attempt to control the state’s coronavirus outbreak. And after 16 new positive cases were recorded in Shepparton.
From 1pm today, the same lockdown restrictions that apply in metro Melbourne will apply in regional Victoria, excluding the 9pm-to-5am curfew. The five reasons to leave home will be in place again.
A permit system will also come into effect for childcare, state-wide. It’ll only be permitted for authorised workers and vulnerable children. The same process as last year, Andrews said.
