City Road in South Melbourne is closed in both directions – between Ferrars Street and Cecil Street – after a truck collided with a rail overpass.
Vic Traffic says crews are working to remove the truck and police are directing traffic. But motorists are advised to avoid the area by using Montague Street and Normanby Road instead.

SIGN UPThis is a welcome reprieve for the accident-prone Montague Street Bridge, which is just around the corner, and could easily have been in the line of fire once again.
Twitter user Phillip Stevens even took to the platform to declare the City Road overpass and Montague Street Bridge cousins.
