Premier Daniel Andrews has announced Victoria’s lockdown will lift, as planned, at 11.59pm on Tuesday night. But a raft of restrictions will remain in place.
He shared the news in a press conference on Tuesday morning, after the state recorded 10 new locally acquired cases of coronavirus – all linked to current outbreaks – over the past 24 hours.
“I’m deeply grateful to every single Victorian who’s done the right thing,” Andrews said.

Home gatherings still won’t be allowed for the next two weeks, but public gatherings will be permitted for up to 10 people. Masks, however, will still be mandatory in all indoor and outdoor settings.
Restaurants, cafes and bars will be able to reopen with a maximum of 100 people inside, subject to density quotients. Schools can also reopen for face-to-face learning, and gyms will reopen too.
Offices will be able to return with a capacity of 25 per cent, but working from home is still recommended for those who can.
