Menu - Mr Yum

This renowned Collingwood pub has a rich history that, until 2010, was embedded in its sticky carpet. Since the temporary closing of The Tote in 2010 due to licensing issues, the carpet has been replaced but the spirit of The Tote lives on.

Allegedly taking its name from an illegal betting shop, this pub has played host to some of the greatest bands in rock'n'roll history. True to its reputation, The Tote is still one the best venues in Melbourne to catch emerging bands or renowned ones, with gigs on from Wednesday to Sunday.

Depending on who’s playing, the band room is likely to be packed out so be sure to arrive early to secure a spot and a Tote stamp on your wrist. And when the band is between sets, cool off in the expansive courtyard with a beer.

If the line-up doesn’t turn you on, have a drink in the front bar, play a Motorhead song on the jukebox and take a seat at the bar. You might even spot one of Melbourne’s many rock and roll luminaries.

And if it’s not reserved, head upstairs to Cobra Bar for a jungle-meets-psychedelic kind of drinking experience.
