When fashion importers Domenique Nestel and Jocelyn Kahil decided to open a store in 2010, they knew it had to be something very special. Enlisting the help of their friend of 15 years, fashion designer Aurelio Costarella, the trio spent time dreaming up ideas that would celebrate the strength and personality of a very select group of designers. And so Eliza Baker was born.

A trip to the newly opened High Street store is a chance to delve into a trove of local and international fashion, accessories and homewares and to discover new names that aren't available anywhere else in Melbourne.

The shop is the only place on the east coast that offers the Perth-based Costarella’s entire collection of delicate Grecian-inspired gowns for evenings and leather trimmings and hints of fur for the day.

Costarella is joined on the racks by Brazilian labels Osklen, Coven and Cantao, as well as Italian knitwear by Anna Rita and pieces by cult Spanish label Indiwoman. The team are clearly driven by quality, colour and print and have no qualms in scouring the world to bring the best back home.
