Microneedling expert Samantha Appel has established a community of face needling fans across five locations in Sydney. Now, The Skin Bar has opened the doors to its newest emerald green space on High Street, Armadale.

The salon echoes the spaces in Sydney. There are four treatment rooms available. Lush green paint, tiles and cabinetry create a calming environment. Tan leather beds are comfortable and chic. And a shell basin and statement lighting give bathroom renovation inspo in a big way.

The quintessential skin needling treatment at The Skin Bar essentially causes controlled injury to the skin, triggering the body’s natural healing process, in turn amping up the production of collagen and elastin. It’s best to schedule this type of appointment when you can guarantee a little bit of downtime for your skin. The first few days can leave you with some residual redness, followed by dry and flaky skin. You’ll be advised to pare back your skincare to the simplest cleanser and moisturiser you own. And it’s best to avoid make-up (and touching your face in general) while the skin is at its most vulnerable to prevent any infection or further irritation. By seven days post-treatment, you’ll definitely start to notice the effects.

The Skin Bar also offers a herbal peel, an express hydration-boosting facial and a deluxe treatment that targets the signs of ageing through exfoliation and LED therapy. Acne-prone skin might benefit from the Acnelan peel, an intensive chemical treatment that is delivered in-clinic and followed up with at-home care. The team also offers a non-laser pigmentation removal treatment called Cosmelan, which can help with pigmentation, such as melasma, as well as damage caused by the sun.

The Skin Bar uses products from O Cosmedics, Dr Spiller and Bottao, which can also be purchased for at-home use.
