BP and David Jones, the petrol-station and department-store giants, have announced plans to open 21 new, next-level convenience stores in Melbourne and Sydney by the end of this year. It comes after the recent success of 10 stores trialled across the two cities.
There’ll be seven new Melbourne stores, in Merrifield, Clyde, Epping, Caroline Springs, Eltham, Greenvale and Kingsway; and 14 in Sydney, in suburbs such as Mosman, Penrith, Sydenham, Willoughby and Thornleigh.
The concept is similar to the first standalone David Jones food store, which opened in Melbourne’s South Yarra in late 2019, but with the convenience dialled up.
