If there’s one thing Melbourne loves, it’s a good toastie. For three days across July and August, different venues in the Chapel Street Precinct will give away a combined $10,000 worth of free toasties – all you have to do is be at the right place at the right time.

They're all pretty unconventional creations. Some of the toasties on offer? Rustica will have croissant tin toasties, made with raspberry and almond frangipane, truffle creme patissiere, salted caramel, and fresh Manjimup truffles from Western Australia from 10am to midday on Monday July 29. Warung Coffee is giving away pulled beef rendang toasties from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday July 30. And Rossi Bar will offer its take on a mortadella portafoglio (a folded pizza) from 4pm to 6pm on Tuesday July 30.
