You can put together an epic feast at home this year, thanks to Providoor’s DIY food kits. Give your dad a lovingly home-cooked meal, with most of the work already done for you by the city’s top chefs. With just a little heating and plating required, you can totally take all the credit too.
Whatever your dad’s appetite or favourite cuisine, we’ve curated a list of some of the Father’s Day Providoor feasts that are guaranteed to get you in the good books.
Supernormal x Asahi Father’s Day Banquet For Two, $75 per person
Andrew McConnell’s Flinders Lane eatery Supernormal is known for its seamless blend of flavours from across Asia, and this eight-dish banquet is a perfectly indulgent cross-section. Carve out a full evening to spend with Dad, picking through dishes such as Szechuan pork dumplings, slow-cooked Yuxiang lamb with spring onion pancake, and a salted chocolate mousse finale. Then, back it all up with some Asahi beers (with matching glasses and coasters, of course).

SIGN UPThe Ultimate Father’s Day Feast for Four With Dishes From Andy Allen, Shane Delia and Frank Camorra, $60 per person
What do you get when you cross superstar chefs Andy Allen (Three Blue Ducks), Shane Delia (Maha) and Frank Camorra (Movida)? A killer feast and bragging rights over any siblings for life. This dinner for four sees the trio pick a few classics from their back catalogue, including Allen’s burnt cabbage with smoked tomato butter, Camorra’s garlic gem lettuce salad and Delia’s slow-roasted lamb shoulder.
David’s Father’s Day Yum Cha Banquet for Four, $55 per person
David’s yum cha is famed for its Shanghainese style (rather than the more common Cantonese), and while the all-you-can-eat model doesn’t work at home, this banquet is easily enough to satisfy one hungry dad and an accompanying family. You’ll get 30 dumplings (10 each of the pork-and-prawn siu mai, roast duck and prawn), a 30-piece Peking duck platter, greens, white chocolate dumplings and a bamboo steamer. You can also add Tsingtao beers – it’s what Dad would want you to do.
Cumulus Inc x Mountain Goat Father’s Day Banquet for Two, $95 per person
Another long-running Andrew McConnell institution, Cumulus Inc is known for its trailblazing, share-plate-driven all-day dining. This dinner for two should give Dad a good taste of what makes Cumulus an enduring Melbourne classic, and includes a lamb shoulder dish so sublime we put it in our cookbook. Add in the tuna tartare with goat’s curd, and a rhubarb and raspberry pudding, and finish with a couple of Mountain Goat steam ales to toast the old man.
Pastuso Father’s Day Feast for Two, $75 per person
South American cuisine in Melbourne doesn’t get much better than the Peruvian stylings of Pastuso. The menu is designed to evoke the geography of Peru’s coast, and this two-person feast will give Dad the full tour. There are seven dishes in all, including scallop with aji amarillo chilli butter, chargrilled beef skewers with lemon huacatay (black mint) dressing, and smoked and roasted papas nativas potatoes with sweet rocoto pepper cream and fried garlic. The pack also includes a couple of Pisco Sours. Enjoy it one on one with Dad, or order a few serves to include the rest of the family.
