Blockbuster exhibit Goddess, isn’t the only thing that closed at the Fed Square museum this month.
ACMI announced this afternoon that Hero, the restaurant fronted by author, chef and Better Homes and Gardens host Karen Martini, is now shuttered. “A new food and drink offer for ACMI will be announced soon,” an ACMI spokesperson said.
Hero, as well as ACMI’s cinema-adjacent snack bar, coffee cart and event spaces, were run by Hospitality M, which Martini owns with business partner Michael Gebran. Martini and Gebran also confirmed the news to Broadsheet via email.

SIGN UP“We regret to advise that today, 2 October 2023, ACMI purported to terminate our Cafe Operation and events management agreement with immediate effect,” they wrote. “As a result, Hero will not be trading for the foreseeable future.”
Hero opened after the museum’s two-year $40 million renovation in 2021.
