A multicoloured mural by Gadigal street artist Jeswri marks the spot at Ezistreat, North Melbourne’s new multicultural food hall – opening this Saturday.
It’s taken over a lofty 600-square-metre industrial warehouse on Macaulay Road, which has been filled with a number of pop-up stalls that really run the gamut, cuisine-wise.
Japanese-inspired vendors include lockdown-born ramen joint Parco, by Di Stasio executive chef Federico Congiu; tiny Fitzroy North cafe and bakery Taiyo Sun; soba-noodle expert Shimbashi; and convenience store Konbini (expect bento boxes).

SIGN UPThere’ll also be Korean street food – plus soju and beer – from Sinjeon; Taiwanese comfort food from Jymmanuel; Turkish-inspired stuffed mussels from King of Mussels; big bowls of pasta from Etto; and loaded burritos and nachos from Burrito Bae.
The vendors will be spread out across warren-like “laneways”, while there’ll also be a bar (with local beers and Homegrown cocktails, like sparkling raspberry Negronis and ginger-and-mango spritzes), a lounge where you can perch to eat your dinner, a beer garden, and a space that can host night markets.
Ezistreat opens this Saturday September 3.
