Ten years ago, Kate Reid opened a tiny croissanterie in Elwood. She called it Lune.

Reid decided to relocate to Fitzroy, then opened new croissanteries in the Melbourne CBD and South Brisbane. All the while taking the nation’s – and, if you ask The New York Times, perhaps even the world’s – croissant crown.

But Lune is going back to its roots this winter, hitting the trifecta with a third Melbourne location, in Armadale.

“Friends south of the river, we know you’ve been dark on us ever since we packed up shop, crossed the Yarra and moved to Fitzroy. How about if we told you we were coming back? VERY SOON,” Reid wrote on Instagram last night.

“Before the winter is out, the leafy streets of Armadale will have a buttery breeze care of Lune!”

The news comes after a week of huge announcements for the brand: it’s also officially opening in Brisbane’s CBD in July, and Sydney in early 2023.

Lune is slated to open at 835 High Street, Armadale in winter.
