Richmond has scored a new, almost 7000-square-metre fresh food market and daytime dining precinct.
The aptly named Richmond Traders has opened on the corner of Bridge Road and Church Street, as part of a plan to get more locals shopping in that part of the suburb.
Calling the food hall home is Melbourne bakery favourite Cobb Lane, serving an array of breads, pastries and cakes; grab-and-go sandwich shop Earl Canteen; and local coffee roaster Au79. There’s also a vibrant fruit and veg shop – plus deli loaded with fancy cheese and smallgoods – by Moonee Ponds’ Demaria’s, and topnotch meat at Cannings Free Range Butchers.
We think you might like Access. For $12 a month, join our membership program to stay in the know.
SIGN UPThe precinct also includes a brand new Coles supermarket, with a pet treat bar, a frozen-desserts buffet (mochi and gelato included) and an expansive bakery. On the booze front, there’s a Vintage Cellars, and shoppers can get two hours of free parking.
More traders will be announced in the coming months, and an al fresco laneway dining area is also in the works. Another facet of Richmond Traders is its new built-to-rent apartment precinct Home, which will open for leasing in July.
