• Bake Off-winner Laura Foo is hosting a pop-up at Co Bake Space in Richmond this Saturday from 9.30am until sold out. There’ll be Milo marble cake, passionfruit macarons, savoury galettes, char siu sou (pastry puffs) and complimentary coffee from Market Lane.
• Welcome Merchant, an initiative that supports businesses run by refugees and asylum seekers, is hosting a three-course Palestinian dinner from chef Aheda Amro at Molly Rose Brewing next Tuesday, October 10. Tickets are $80 and a portion of proceeds will be donated to Medical Aid for Palestinians.
• Sushi master and Nobu head sushi chef Masami Ouchi is in Melbourne for the first time in 15 years. At Nobu Melbourne on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights from October 9 to November 5, the chef will be preparing an omakase dinner with dishes inspired by his 32-year career. $350 per person, bookings essential.
• Raw cheese boxes from the Mould Cheese Collective are available this month only. The boxes are $70 and include four different raw cheeses including a hard cheese from Bruny Island and a semi-hard from South Gippsland.
• Supernormal on Flinders Lane is now offering teishoku (a Japanese meal set) for weekday lunches, with ushio-jiru (clear clam soup), glazed eggplant, an asparagus and sugar snap pea salad, a soy egg and rice for $24.
