The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) is the ultimate place to immerse yourself in film culture. This dynamic cultural hub celebrates, explores and promotes film, television and digital culture with a range of film screenings, festivals, exhibitions, events and forums, educational programs and creative workshops.

ACMI’s vibrant film calendar of curated seasons, film festivals and regular themed film programs includes Melbourne Cinemateque, dedicated to screening rare and significant films; Freaky Fridays which showcases cult films; and regular Kids’ Flicks and Seniors’ Cinema.

ACMI is all about nurturing diverse and creative ways to engage with the moving image and screen culture. Its centrepiece is the free permanent exhibition Screen Worlds, which tells the story of film, television and digital culture through an engaging range of footage and interactive displays. There is an ever-changing major exhibition program, and ACMI also houses the Australian Mediateque collection, a national screen culture resource centre where you can access a wealth of video and sound material.
