Let’s not mess about here: there are plenty of places to find streetwear labels but the truth is few of them pass muster. Then there’s the other side of the coin, where the labels are cool and their reputation intact but their proliferation defeats the purpose. So how does a store stand out from the herd?

Well, you get a guy like Nicholas Angelopoulos who will curate a space with the established and the yet-to-be labels of menswear, mixing good taste and good times into a place guys will want to be. Striking the right balance seems to be the key and also the way to ensure loyalty and longevity.

Some of the names will be familiar but Nick’s stamp is on everything. It can found in his selection from the New Balance Made in USA, through the Carhartt, in stock and Fred Perry’s mod-fit polos. Newer labels like Only and Belief as well as Melbourne label Grand Scheme are given equal footing because 1st Product is about supporting the local industry as much as it is about ensuring the clients leave happy and looking good.

So balance continues to be the theme and 1st Product has it pretty much sorted.
