Pinky's

Jewellery and accessories designer Emily Green had a studio in Brunswick but in 2016 decided to move closer to her home in Reservoir. She and her stylist friend Beckie Littler began chatting about a combined shopfront and studio space, and Pinky’s opened in May 2018.

The shop is friendly and unpretentious and welcomes children. This shows in the details: plenty of space to browse with prams around a central table; a kids area in the corner, with cushions, toys and books; and an inviting palette of ice-cream colours. One wall features a striking floral mural by textile and surface designer Cassie Byrnes. A neon “P” glows above the children’s nook.

Green’s signature designs – which she handcrafts with her staff in the back studio – are stocked throughout. The shop’s range also includes ceramics, homewares, soaps, candles, books, accessories and more from local labels they admire, such as Leah Jackson, Shuh, Leif, The Souvenir Society, Milk and Masuki, Lemon Ceramics, Totes Good, Soap Club and Halcyon Nights. Beanies line one shelf, and on another there are colourful printed cushions. The range is a combination of what Green describes as “treat yourself” items, and fun accessories and giftware, and it covers a range of prices.

The pair also built three other studio spaces on the property, which are occupied by artists involved in creative endeavours, such as graphic design, painting and photography. There’s also a multipurpose area for workshops and photoshoots.
