The Royal Mail Hotel Dining Room was replaced by Wickens at the Royal Mail in 2018.

The Royal Mail Hotel is Dunkeld’s shining culinary star. The mint-coloured Art-Deco building consists of three spaces – a dining room, wine bar and public bar.

In the dining room elegant, white-clothed tables are neatly spaced in the light-filled room. Cutlery and wine glasses glimmer. Five- and eight-course dinners are available, but the eight-course tasting menu is the restaurant’s signature. Inventive dishes such as rhubarb roll-ups and eggplant ice-cream sandwiches are elegantly plated and served alongside bread with vegemite butter. For a little extra, each course can be matched to wine.

If you’d prefer to choose, the wine list has more than 2000 options, and a cellar across the road stores about 26,000 bottles.
