Espresso Cafe Richmond
Features
Espresso Cafe Richmond (formerly Espresso 3121) is located down an arty laneway in a semi-industrial pocket. In 2015, new owners Rishi Anand (a chef) and Gurinder Mudher updated the cafe and overhauled the menu to include classy pasta dishes, burgers and, where possible, a touch of Indian spice.
Regulars queue for the Padre coffee. The breakfast roti wraps and handmade Wagyu burgers are also hot sellers. But surprisingly, it’s the token vegie burger that has risen to signature status. It’s filled with haloumi, homemade potato rosti and baked baby beetroot, then dressed with a zingy mint and coriander chutney – an old family recipe and a nod to the owners’ heritage.
The brightly coloured laneway leads you into the inviting industrial space with a waiting bay off to one side and plenty of seating around large communal tables.
