Jardan Flagship
Features
With an exterior of sky-blue paint and gold signage, The Jardan flagship store certainly doesn’t get lost among the sea of retail window fronts.
Inspired by the modernist styles of John and Sunday Reed and the Heide Museum of Modern Art, Architect Iva Foschia of IF Architecture has created the shop space with Australian blackbutt timber, Queensland marble and natural lime-based paint by Bauwerk.
Flooded with natural light and warm tones, the two-storey interior provides a serene backdrop for the brand’s mid-century modernist-inspired sofas, stools, tables and chairs and an expanding range of products.
These include lifestyle items: bed linen, jewellery by Lucy Folk, ceramics by Porcelain Bear and even a line of Maren surfboards. Sculptures, photographs and paintings by local artists are exhibited throughout and are regularly refreshed.
The upper level incorporates an open-plan kitchen and entertainment area, complete with a coffee machine and sleek Italian cookware. There’s a section designed for an outdoor setting, decked out with pastel-coloured furniture and pots of leafy plants.
Jardan’s aesthetic is based on designing furniture to suit the contemporary Australian lifestyle. The small company has also received Australia’s highest environmental rating, and is accredited as a carbon-neutral organisation.
