Lauren Urquhart and Maya Webb have steadily been bringing hard-to-find, avant-garde clothing to Melbourne. They did so first with ARCHIVE, a consignment store selling second-hand Comme des Garçons, Issey Miyake and Yohji Yamamoto.

Now there’s Shifting Worlds, the pair’s third concept, and a luxury destination for niche labels from around the world. With names such as Pleats Please, Bao Bao and Maryam Nassir Zadeh, Shifting Worlds’ rollcall of designers is for fashion nerds who were once relegated to navigating Japanese eBay or scrolling through New York e-boutiques.

But all that changed with Urquhart and Webb’s No Order Market, their retail space. It houses ARCHIVE, Base Range (the Danish underwear brand) and Shifting Worlds under the same roof. Think of it as three separate departments in the one store.

The three stores are together in a hub where people can find things they wouldn’t otherwise find anywhere else in Melbourne. In addition to clothing and accessories, No Order Market stocks a small range of books and publications, ceramics, perfume and skin care.
