Menu - Mr Yum

For years, Chez Dré has been the go-to spot for all-day breakfasts, fresh baguettes and French-inspired sweet treats. But as the business has grown, the cakes and sweets have been getting lost among the coffee and breakfast offerings.

So in May 2015, Bibelot (pronounced “bib-loh”) was born.

Bibelot (enter via Coventry Street) occupies the front space of the warehouse-turned-cafe. Showcasing all of Chez Dré’s petits gâteaux and macarons, there are also handcrafted bonbons, biscuits and house-made gelato. Two chocolate taps sit ready to coat your ice cream.

A small retail space stocks gourmet gifts including nut-and-fruit confit, chocolate bars and patisserie cookbooks. At the rear is a high-tea salon, fitted out with a custom-made black-and-white mosaic wall and plush emerald-green armchairs. The salon offers three fixed menus.

Regulars can still access the original Chez Dré from the adjacent laneway for breakfast or lunch, before picking up a sweet takeaway from Bibelot on the way out.
