Order is soon to be restored at Pt Leo Estate. Its vast eponymous restaurant, as well as fine diner Laura, are reopening on December 7 and 16, respectively – just in time for summer.
In late May, the grandiose Mornington Peninsula winery announced that it was “closed until further notice” after a fire. Three months later, it re-emerged with a light and bright temporary restaurant called Pt Leo Pavilion – with an elegant dessert trolley, a champagne and caviar bar, and the same slick service anyone who’s visited before would recognise.
The Pavilion will remain open until Pt Leo Restaurant and Laura relaunch next month.

“This feels less like a reopening of a space, but more of an opening of a new business … We are proud of all that the Pavilion has achieved and while we will miss it, we can’t wait to get back to delivering the best of our region’s ingredients.”
The 130-hectare site in Merricks is also home to a cellar door and wine terrace, and a sculpture park.
Pt Leo Restaurant will reopen on December 7; Laura will reopen on December 16. Bookings are available online.
