Sunny Ridge Farm
Features
There’s nothing better then fresh, juicy strawberries. Especially when you’ve picked them yourself.
The Gallace family opened Sunny Ridge strawberry farm in 1964, originally hoping to grow apples and cherries. But it was strawberries that proved quickest to grow and harvest, and a favourite in the family.
Sunny Ridge is now the largest strawberry farm in Australia. Nearly 4.5 million strawberries, blackberries and raspberries are grown and harvested between November and May each year.
Sunny Ridge’s “U-Pick” lets you purchase an empty punnet and fill it with the juiciest strawberries you can find on the farm. The only rule: once full, you have to be able to close your punnet’s lid.
Reward your hard “work” with dessert at the cafe, such as waffles with chocolate sauce and berries, a strawberry milkshake or chocolate fondue.
Be sure to leave with one of Sunny Ridge’s house-made jams, or freeze-dried berries dipped in chocolate. There are also berry-flavoured sorbets and ice-creams to take home.
