Mudgee Brewing Company
Features
Mudgee Brewing Co. is a restaurant, bar, brewery and live music venue located in an old wool and skins store. It’s the sort of relaxed place that makes you feel like a local, no matter where you’re from. A Mudgee resident called Cyril has spent so much time here, he has a chair with his name on it.
Owner Gary Leonard left the coal-mining industry to open the brewery in 2007. He sources ingredients from all over the world and pays tribute to beers he’s loved drinking. He keeps his wheat beer, spring ale, pale ale and porter on tap all year round, and experiments seasonally with the other four handles.
His rich, malty porter will convert even the most ardent pale-ale enthusiast. It pairs beautifully with dark chocolate. When spring hits, the alcoholic ginger beer is a must-have.
There are only two rules to tasting the beers at Mudgee Brewing. First, unlike wines you should never spit beer out, as half the flavour is in the aftertaste. And secondly, you just shouldn’t spit beer out.
With breakfast, lunch and dinner available, all your needs are covered. Unlike most breweries, this one goes the extra mile with table service, regardless of whether you’re chasing bar snacks to pair with your brews, pizzas to share, or planning a full three-course meal.
